COVID-19 Update: ORMF Canceled

It is with a heavy heart that we make this announcement. After careful consideration and much deliberation, the conclusions drawn by the Original Oystergrass, Inc. Board of Directors and the Oyster Ridge Music Festival Committee were the same, in that the 2020 Oyster Ridge Music Festival will be cancelled due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. At the current time, the countless number of unknowns surrounding this virus has made planning the event nearly impossible. No concrete timelines or guidance is currently available, and this has brought everything to a grinding halt. This decision was an extremely difficult one. Please understand that it was made with the highest regard to public

Goodnight, Texas

Conventional wisdom says the two frontmen of a band shouldn’t live on opposite sides of the United States, but that's never seemed to deter Avi Vinocur and Patrick Dyer Wolf. Goodnight, Texas is a band whose strength lies in unexpected sweet spots. Drawing their name from Pat and Avi’s onetime geographic midpoint (the real town of Goodnight in the State of Texas, a tiny hamlet east of Amarillo directly betwixt San Francisco, CA and Chapel Hill, NC), the band also exists at the center of its songwriters’ contrasting styles — via a 1913 Gibson A mandolin and a 2015 Danelectro, at the crossroads of folk and blues and rock ‘n’ roll, in a place where dry wit and dark truths meet hope and utmost s

Michigan Rattlers

Lifelong friends and deep-north natives, musical group Michigan Rattlers play heavy-hearted folk-rock with an aching dose of Midwestern nice. Graham Young (guitar), Adam Reed (upright bass), Christian Wilder (piano), and Tony Audia (drums) began writing music and performing together in their Northern Michigan high school. They regularly played every bar, cafe, and stage in town, developing a musical chemistry informed by the likes of AC/DC, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Seger, and more. After a few years apart, Reed and Young settled down in Los Angeles, recorded a short demo, and began playing locally. The demo found its way into the hands of super-producer Johnny K (Plain White T's, 3

Reckless Kelly

Willy Braun (vocals, guitars, harmonium, percussion, harmonica) -Cody Braun (fiddle, mandolin, tenor guitar, harmonica, vocals) – Jay Nazz (drums, percussion) -Joe “Bass” Miller(bass) For nearly 25 years, Reckless Kelly has graced the musical landscape with a high- powered form of Americana, equally rooted in raw passion, refined musicianship, and gritty authenticity. With the dual release of two new albums—American Jackpot and American Girls — the Idaho-bred band presents a beautifully detailed portrait of their beloved country, turning their nuanced songwriting to its many glories and tragedies. While one batch of songs centers on slice-of-life storytelling and the other explores the compl

Freddy Jones Band

Freddy Jones Band is one of America’s premiere roots rock bands (and no, none of the members are actually named Freddy Jones). Freddy Jones Band is fronted by founding member and sole writer/singer of the band's biggest hit to date, “ In A DayDream" Marty Lloyd, who plays alongside longtime member/bassist Rich Ross. The lineup rounds out with veteran musicians Michael J-guitarist, and Goose LaPoint- drummer. Freddy Jones Band is best known for their number one hits including “In a Daydream” and “Hold on to Midnight”. "Never Change" is brand new music produced by a three-time Grammy winning producer Justin Niebank. Neibank says, “Never Change is the best record I’ve worked on in years!”

Trout Steak Revival

Colorado’s Trout Steak Revival has announced the release of their fifth studio album in Winter 2020 and will kick off its album release with a tour through the Colorado mountains, Montana, and the Pacific Northwest. The album includes an array of original songs crafted over the last several years by the individual songwriters and beautifully arranged and recorded by the band over the course of the summer of 2019. Ever since winning the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition, Trout Steak Revival has quickly become a quintessential Colorado band. The band won an Emmy Award for a soundtrack they contributed to a Rocky Mountain PBS. They collaborate with school children in mentoring progr

Will Hoge

MY AMERICAN DREAM … “Will Hoge didn’t really need to release a new album in 2018. His most recent, Anchors, came out last August, reaching No. 6 on Billboard Heatseekers and the Top 20 on the Indie chart. He’d toured the United States and Europe, and could’ve settled in from there. But there was something he couldn’t stop thinking about: his children. Border police. Political corruption. Anti-intellectualism. Poverty. Gun control. A broken education system. Indifference to others’ suffering. Each of these things weighed on Hoge, and he confronts them all head-on in My American Dream, which will come with a copy of the U.S. Constitution printed with the lyrics in both the LP and CD (out Octob

The Rightly So

Born in the heart of the Buffalo rust belt but refined on the back roads of America, The Rightly So brings a vibrant energy to Americana music. The acoustic duo, comprised of Greg Zeis & Jess Chizuk, have taken their modern folk music on the road for the last two years, living and touring out of their homemade RV full-time. Likened to The Milk Carton Kids and The Secret Sisters, The Rightly So has developed a unique style of captivating acoustic music carried by perfectly blended harmonies by voices that have been described as “electric and deeply in tune.”

Blending bluegrass and hip-hop may seem like an unlikely recipe for success, but don’t tell that to Rench, the mastermind behind the Emmy-nominated bluegrass/hip-hop outfit Gangstagrass. Back when Rench was in grade school, recess was a time for breakdancing on cardboard to RUN-DMC. But at home, his parents were playing Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash records on the stereo. That musical mash up made a lasting impression on Rench, which he finally put to good use after spirited him on a journey to play country-flavored hip-hop at venues all over the globe. After settling in Brooklyn, Rench started recording MCs at Rench Audio Studios, his home studio. The rappers may have thought their sessions
