COVID-19 Update: ORMF Canceled
It is with a heavy heart that we make this announcement.
After careful consideration and much deliberation, the conclusions drawn by the Original Oystergrass, Inc. Board of Directors and the Oyster Ridge Music Festival Committee were the same, in that the 2020 Oyster Ridge Music Festival will be cancelled due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
At the current time, the countless number of unknowns surrounding this virus has made planning the event nearly impossible. No concrete timelines or guidance is currently available, and this has brought everything to a grinding halt.
This decision was an extremely difficult one. Please understand that it was made with the highest regard to public health and safety as well as the well-being of all the performers who have been booked, our countless sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and festivalgoers. Cancelling the event at this time is in the best interest of not only public safety and the safety of all involved with the event, but also for the future of the festival itself.
It is heartbreaking right now to think of a summer without a music festival. However, we are going to get through this. We’ll lean on the music we love to make it through. We ask that you consider all the artists out there who have had their worlds turned upside down because of this pandemic. All of them are playing online shows and giving us hope in a time that we all need their work most. We as a committee ask that you support them by viewing what they are providing and contributing to them monetarily if you can do so. Music must live on.
In conclusion, we want you to know that we are currently working with all the artists that were booked for this year’s festival in hopes that we can move this lineup to 2021 (July 23 rd – 25 th ). We’ll keep you informed of the progress. In the meantime, we hope and pray this all comes to an end as soon as possible for everyone.
Stay safe and healthy.
