The Sweet Lillies
The Sweet Lillies are a heartfelt and collaborative acoustic string band comprising Julie Gussaroff, Becca Bisque, Dustin Rohleder, and drummer Jones Maynard. Their music, blending guitar, viola, upright bass, and ethereal vocal harmonies, combines old-time soul with forward-looking creativity. They call their style "String-Americana," reflecting their diverse influences ranging from classical music to folk, hip-hop, and bebop.
The band thrives on collaboration, inviting legendary performers and incorporating non-traditional instruments and styles into their performances. Their live shows are spontaneous and unique, with reimagined songs and surprise guest appearances.
Formed in 2013 in Golden, Colorado, The Sweet Lillies have released four albums: The Sweet Lillies (2016), A Lighter Hue (2018), Common Ground (2021), and their latest, Equality (2023). Produced by Chris Pandolfi, Equality captures their evolved sound, highlighting themes of social justice and self-exploration with powerful rapping, layered vocals, and instrumental solos.
